Barbecue season is just around the corner and this is a joy to anyone who loves to grill. There are so many things one can grill and meats and vegetables aren’t the only ones. There are many fruits you can grill to end the meal on a sweet note. I came across grilled pineapple at a restaurant and I loved it. The slightly hot pineapple, seasoned with cinnamon-sugar mixture, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream is just divine. You can omit the cinnamon-sugar mixture if you like but it does give it a special touch.

1 pineapple

1/4 cup/ 60 ml brown sugar or regular sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 tablespoon butter

How to make it:

In a bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar together

Cut the pineapple and cover with the cinnamon-sugar  mixture.

If you don’t have a grill, you can just use a grill pan on your stove. Heat a grill pan and add butter. Once melted add the pineapple.

Grill on all sides.

Once done, remove from the pan and serve on a plate and top it off with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
