Just prepared another tagine the other day and wanted to share it with you. It’s very simple to make and you can use a regular pot if you don’t have the traditional Moroccan clay tagine. The great thing about tagines, is that you can make so many different variations and you can choose whether you want to make it with beef, lam, chicken or fish or even just make a veggie tagine. The world is your oyster. You can choose the vegetables you like and omit the ones you don’t like.


4-6 chicken drumsticks

2 onions

2 potatoes

2-3 carrots

Handful of green beans

1 teaspoon ginger

1/2 teaspoon tumeric

1/2-1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper



Chop onions and add to pot.

Add chicken and brown on all sides.


Add spices and mix well. Add water(enough to cover the at least half of the chicken) and cover for half an hour.

Add potatoes and carrots and cover and cook for another 40-50 minutes.

Add green beans when chicken is well done. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.

Serve with bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
