This recipe is so refreshing and you can tweak it here and there to make a little twist to it. I’ve made so many different juices and refreshing drinks this summer as its been extremely hot. They have come to my rescue a couple of times. Agua fresca comes from Mexico and Central America. There are so many varieties. This is simply because you just mix fruit with water and sugar. I made watermelon flavor this time around because it was what I had on hand. Other flavors are: Cantaloupe, Mango, Orange, Passion fruit and so many more.
1000 ml watermelon in chunks
125 ml cold water
1 tablespoon of sugar (usually more is added but I didn’t want to add too much)
Juice from 1 lime
For an extra twist you can add:
Add watermelon, sugar and water to a pitcher. With an immersion blender, blend these together until it becomes smooth.
If you like you can add mint leaves to the bottom and crush them slightly. Then add ice cubes and pour over the ague fresca. If you want to add 7 up or any of the above mentioned liquids, fill the glass 2/3 with the agua fresco and fill the rest with 7up.
Decorate with mint leaves and serve and enjoy.
