I’m baaaaaaack! Finally I’m back with more recipes for all of you. I’ve had a lot on my plate lately and haven’t had time to post any new blog posts. However, I did make many recipes that I will start to share with you. Today, I’m going to show you how to make puff pastry apple roses. We’ve all seen these on social media and they are so beautiful and SO simple to make. My mother asked me to prepare these a while back when she had invited some girlfriends over to celebrate her birthday and me loving to bake and prepare food gladly accepted to make them. Everyone was fascinated over how good they looked LIVE as they had also seen them on the internet and a couple of her friends asked me how I prepared them. So to answer their question, I will share it with you too 🙂 .
Ingredients:
Puff pastry(i used a frozen pack of two sheets and managed to make around 14)
Strawberry jam or which ever jam you like.(I’ve tried these with custard as well and they are the bomb dot com)
Apples
*There are no exact measurements because it depends how much jam you like and how many you want to make.
How to:
Start by thinly slicing the apples and soaking them in some water. Preheat oven to 200°C.
Cut you puff pastry into 3-4 cm strips in width.
Add jam to the puff pastry and layer the apples(make sure they are not wet. Pat off any excess water)on one half of the puff pastry. Flip the other half of the pastry over the apples and start rolling.
Put the apple roses in a muffin tin if you have one to give them more support in the over. They keep their shape better when using a muffin tin.
Remove from oven when you see that they are golden brown and let cool for 5 minutes and then remove from tin.
Dust with some confectioners sugar and serve lukewarm with a side of whipped cream or ice cream if you’re feeling cheeky.
Wow!!! They look amazing
